eBay’s More the Merrier Gift Board Launches the First-of-its-Kind Holiday Wishlist Sweepstakes on Pinterest

Everyone builds a holiday wishlist for their family to know what they want for Christmas. So for the 2021 holiday season, eBay tapped into the social pinning culture of Pinterest, where savvy fans already go to build their holiday wishlists. eBay created its own More the Merrier Gift Board—a holiday-themed Pinterest board filled with nearly 100 of the hottest products that fans can pin to their holiday wishlist. Three grand prize winners will win their whole board worth up to $50k. A few insta-winners will win one pin prize that they pinned instantly. The more the fans pin, the more chances they have to win.

Our Pinterest strategy targeted three different categories that we knew consumers were searching this holiday on this platform: home decor, children’s toys and fashion. We searched for three prevalent influencers that hit on each category on Pinterest to help spread the word across social platforms by building their own Pinterest Gift Boards and sharing out with their followers. Plus, a few lucky winners/fans will receive gifts from each influencer.

CREATING A 2021 HOLIDAY LOOK FOR EBAY

The Many was also tasked with establishing the look of the holiday campaign, complete with a toolkit for partner agencies. The toolkit featured a campaign style guide for applications such as digital banners, FB/IG/PIN in-feed + stories and a messaging matrix.
